Open since spring 2024, Roast Eatery specializes in Hong Kong-style roast duck. Each bird is golden brown and expertly crisped, hanging in view behind the counter just like you’d see in Kowloon. You can order a whole duck, half portion, or a combo plate with white rice and soy-braised eggs. The texture and flavor hit all the right notes for fans of Cantonese comfort food.

Owners Vivian and Eric have a long history with Chinese cooking. Eric grew up around the ovens in his family’s roast meat shop in San Francisco. Now living in Brentwood with their children, the couple opened Roast Eatery to share the flavors they love with their own community. They wanted to create something quick, approachable, and full of tradition.
The response has been enthusiastic. Customers are visiting from places like San Jose and Sacramento to try the roast meats, while local families are excited to see this kind of authentic BBQ in their neighborhood. The staff is welcoming and happy to help first-timers find the right combo plate.
